Course overview
The Animal Handling and Vaccination Certificate (AVC) is a profession-specific course that focuses specifically on empowering animal health and welfare professionals that interact with animals in order to administer rabies vaccinations.
To do this, the course covers four key aspects as outlined below:
- Understanding animal behavior and how to use the knowledge to safely approach and handle dogs and cats.
- How to safely and effectively use the various types of animal handling equipment.
- How to safely and correctly administer and record rabies vaccinations.
- The different types of vaccination campaigns and special considerations that you might encounter during them.
By completing the course, graduates will have the most up-to-date and relevant information about the safe and humane administration of rabies vaccination in dogs and cats.
Graduates will receive an official certificate of achievement from GARC after completing the course.
The course is available in English and French.
Entry requirements
Prior completion of the Rabies Educator Certificate.
