Course overview

The Rabies Educator Certificate (REC) is a self-paced, online course developed by the Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC) to provide interested participants with the vital knowledge and skills that they would require to teach at-risk communities about rabies, and its control and prevention.

To do this, the course covers four key aspects as outlined below:

  • Rabies and how it is transmitted.
  • Avoiding dog bites and preventing rabies.
  • Improving the welfare of animals in the community.
  • Effective ways to communicate the life-saving knowledge with people.

By completing the course, graduates will be have an improved understanding and knowledge-base about rabies and its prevention and control – enabling them to effectively communicate the life-saving information to any at-risk populations.

Graduates will receive an official certificate from GARC after completing the course.

The course is available in English, French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese.
