Job summary

As the Grants Officer, you will provide administrative support to all Oxford based research groups by preparing grant applications, managing post-award grants and research-related contracts, dealing with sponsors, reporting and preparing for audit, budgeting, and disseminating relevant information to grant holders. You will line manage the Research Grants Assistants, ensuring their allocated applications, awards and contracts are appropriately and effectively managed throughout their lifecycle. You will administer grants awarded to principal investigators and set up appropriate systems to ensure compliance with terms and conditions You will also prepare monthly portfolio reports for Principle investigators, and provide a detailed review of spending, to ensure all commitments and outstanding accounts from the Overseas Units have been accounted.

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and have experience in a similar finance or administrative position. A high level of organisation, excellent attention to detail and the capacity to manage a varied workload to meet deadlines are essential. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work effectively with a wide range of people. Experience of working with budgets and the ability to cost and price research using Full Economic Costing methodologies is essential.
