Data Governance Officer
We are seeking a highly-motivated Data Governance Officer to join the Infectious Diseases Data Observatory (IDDO) based within NDM, where you will work across the IDDO portfolio of emerging infections (EI) and neglected poverty related diseases (NPRD) data themes.
In this dynamic and varied role you will manage and develop data access systems and processes for data re-use to facilitate the production of research and evidence, a central activity required to achieve IDDO’s vision and mission, delivering a lasting impact on global health resulting from IDDO’s programmes. You will take a proactive role in engaging with the members of IDDO’s various data access committees, data contributors and researchers seeking access to data – a broad range of stakeholders across the emerging infections and neglected poverty related disease communities, both nationally and internationally.
It is essential that you hold a degree in a relevant discipline and have awareness of the issues involved in the re-use of data relating to human subjects. You will have knowledge or previous experience with research ethics, data privacy, and/or sharing data. You will have proven administrative and project management experience, including attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate tracking records, and have strong diplomacy skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to build strong, trusting relationships and bring ownership and oversight to data access activities across IDDO, which require the engagement of both internal and external partners

With reduced responsibilities, this post can be offered as a Grade 6: £29,176 - £35,326 with a discretionary range to £38,587 per annum
This position is offered part time (50% FTE) on a fixed term contract until 31 December 2022, with possibility of extension, and is funded by the Wellcome.
